SNOW DAY!!!

We had a SNOW DAY!!! It started snowing Tuesday afternoon and by Wednesday morning we had about a foot of snow :) I was super excited about my snow day- in Tennessee these occurred quite often- even for a dusting of snow. But here in Hoosierville, they are a bit more prepared, so a true 'snow day' is rare.

It all started Tuesday afternoon. I left work a bit early-3:45-and it took me 3 and 1/2 hours to get home!!! CRAZY. But I survived and e-mailed my boss when I got home to suggest that I work from home on Wednesday (yes, as Marcus says, a 'true southern belle'). Needless to say, I didn't move my car from the garage at all on Wednesday. On Wednesday, I woke up at 6:30am and rushed to the TV- IUPUI was on the list! Campus was closed! It was like I was a kid again- jumping around screaming 'snow day' snow day' Marcus thought I had lost my mind. We enjoyed some time at home- cooking a yummy breakfast and lounging around.

Marcus had a meeting at work, so while he was gone, I shoveled the driveway. This is a serious task with a foot of snow on the ground. I've included pictures of my handy work- I was so proud :)

Knowing Krista, my brother's girlfriend, was super jealous of our powdery white world, we got out and played in the snow. The snow angel was just for you, Krista!

And now, on Friday, life is back to normal. Other than the brown snow piles on the side of the road, Hoosierville is back up and running.

Happy Weekend!!

Here We Go...

So, we're jumping on the band wagon :) This is such a great way to keep family and friends aware of all that we are doing and an easy way to keep in touch. With the big changes coming in our lives this will be a fun way to document all the happenings.
So, what makes 2009 so special? In the Gehrlein family, there are lots of things to celebrate this year: My grandparents' 60 wedding anniversary, my 30th birthday, our wedding, my mama's 60th birthday and my parent's 40th anniversary. We couldn't have picked a better year to add to the celebration by getting married.
Marcus and I are super excited about our upcoming wedding! We have made many of the plans already. He has been a trooper as he knows how excited I get when I can write another check on my list. It will be a day of celebration and we look forward to seeing so many family and friends on that day. Bring your dancing shoes because we'll be ready to get down!!
Here's to 2009- a year of celebration
